What a Weekend! – Craig’s Birthday

Late Friday night (Feb 17) Bev, David & Danielle rolled in from Detroit! Said they enjoyed the ride – imagine that. Bev is the mother of Becky, Beth, Sarahjoy and David & the wife of my beloved brother, Tom, who passed in 2008.

Saturday, Beth & Dave arrived from Massachusetts. Sarahjoy & Nate were stuck home with budding colds but hope to reschedule a Vermont trip in a couple of weeks. Our house was soon rocking with all these techie young-uns talking, inspecting & improving our computers and new devices. Danielle headed out for an early run and saw most of Vermont, I think! There was a lot of hot-tubbing too. Not much talk about the upcoming evening pot-luck dinner next door at Rosie & Allen’s, where Beth & Dave were staying overnight. As a result, when our whole assembledge got itself together and out the door, Craig seemed too occupied in keeping our group from tripping on the grass in the dark or slipping on the arched bridge between our houses to make note of all the cars parked along our road. Later he admitted thinking that our neighbors had gone a little over the edge, DRIVING to a neighborhood pot-luck dinner. Craig actually walked through the door and right under a banner that said CRAIG, HAPPY BIRTHDAY and into the kitchen before 48 people singing HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU CRAIG, slowed him down & wiped all expression from his face. It was a real moment in time! Congratulations to all the folks ‘in the know’ who absolutely pulled this one off!
