What a happy day yesterday was! My bloodwork cooperated and let me have Chemo #18 – which should have been my last treatment. Instead there is still next week’s make-up treatment of Chemo #15, but a lot is happening before then.
Tomorrow I have my “end of treatment” CT Scan to evaluate my outcome and I will have a CA-125 blood test prior to next Wednesday’s appointment with Dr. Unger when he will discuss the results with us. Then, if my regular bloodwork tests allow, I’ll have good ol’ Chemo #15 and we can mark THE END to these chemo appointments! I don’t know about you, but I’ll be ready to celebrate big time!!!
The bloodwork that may cause problems for Chemo #15 are:
The Platelet count. It has to be over 49 for me to get chemo. My Platelet count yesterday was 75.
The Neutraphils have to shoulder up too. Yesterday they came in at 0.8. In the past they have denied me treatment when the Neutraphils were 0.5.
The White Blood Count was 2.5 and I forget what the cutoff point for that is.
So, once again I appreciate your prayers, best wishes and general cheering on. I’ve already started to celebrate because, no matter what happens next week, this experience is winding to a close – and we are SO READY!
nearly there 🙂
One more to go Tam and then you’re ready. Hope all will go well!!
I’ve been keeping track of you and your progress….simply amazing, Tammi! I would love to see you before you leave on your vacation….will call to see if we can set something up. Love you, girl!
