Especially for those of you local — as we discover what Tammi & Craig need to get through these next months, we’ll post them on this site. If you’ve been through this before and have some suggestions, please leave a comment!
Rides and company and errands and cards and vacuuming and comfort and weeding and love and all those things… Tammi & Craig are surrounded with wonderful friends and family, ready to jump in and lend a hand.
Those of us who are further away are so grateful for you!
From Tammi, Feb 11, 2012:
“I wonder if there’s anyone out there who has an old Vita-Mix 5000 that they might be willing to lend for a few months.”
From Tammi, Feb 5, 2012:
“The office has taken over the food section of our lives. Soup is being delivered and that really hits the spot. There are only 2 of us…..ok,ok, Ballew…3…. so lots & lots of soup would be too much. I think the CB Bill Beck RE group can arrange between them so that we get food but not too much. Col’s Tuscan Soup is a huge hit, as is Jackie’s Potato-Leak-Mushroom-Dill.
“If there is one thought that makes my body sigh with just the idea, it is the thought of a back and/or foot massage. Gol, that would be heaven now & then. Is anyone out there handy with that sort of thing? I take a gentle touch so it might not be too tiring for you. And Craig is a fool for a massage too…and LORD KNOWS he’s doing the majority of the work around here! Just a wish….”
Keep up the good attitude, Tammi. A little defiance works wonders. love, Pat & Bob
Dear Ann; Hope this note finds you feeling well ,and in good spirits. You are in our thoughts ,and prayers. We haven’t seen each other in years, but I have fond memories of your mom, and dad, and Tommy. They were like family in fact all the folks at Central Church were like family. I really miss those times. Well I hope you do well with your chemo, and Jackie & I will keep you in our prayers. Love Jerry & Jackie Borg
Tammi says: Thank you so much! It, is GREAT to hear from you and Jackie. Makes me feel like I am surrounded by family. Beth came roaring out yelling, “A BORG is responding!” How cool is that!!! [Note from Beth: I’m not quite sure what she means by “roaring,” but I WAS excited to see a name from Grandpa’s church here. That must be what she meant.]
Keep on truckin’
Long as your doing the driving kiddo.
Hi Anne,
I wrote you a note a while back and don’t know if you got it. You have definitely been in our prayers. And yes, I agree with “the Borg” we were and are one big happy family and when one hurts, we all hurt. My heart aches for you and I pray that you will come through all this with flying colors.
Love and miss you little sister.

Great to have you thinking and praying for me, Janice! You and Jerry feel so much like family that it is hard to imagine how many years have passed since we were last together. But it’s like a minute in God’s eyes, eh?
Chemo 4 was yesterday and I continue to feel very well. While Bev and her kids were up last weekend I had fatigue for the 1st time and was always being ‘put down for a nap’ and missing half the fun. This week though… up and running again. It is a strange disease but I don’t always remember I have it.
Thanks again for your caring.
Love, Anne
Tammi, I miss all the talk time. Looking forward to more. No more Curves, where will we meet? Maybe a spa trip, you and me. (I have always avoided this Exposure but for you I would go). Jake is taking up a lot of time. However,Dad is OK with me going out, even without him. (and Jake). Love you and Craig. Keep up the good work !!
Finally I find this message! Sorry for the delay. Spas always sound like fun but the only one I have been to was in NC. Do you know of something local that sounds like us? Or there’s a very reasonably priced hot tub on our beck deck. :-}
Looked at your bloodwork today. Looks pretty good to me.I have had the same WBC without chemo in the past, no problem. I hope that the doctor agrees.
Glad to have your trained eye looking over the stats. Not feeling my absolute best today though.
Tammi,
So wonderful to hear your cheerful voice today.
My spirits were lifted tremendously.
Much love,
Allen
Hey, Tammi,
Just want to wish you the best of outcomes this week! Congrats on your retirement (mine won’t happen until June). I’m looking forward to garden chats with you…speaking of which; have you ever grown sweet potatoes? We’re going to give it a try. We keep thinking that with warmer years they might just make it here.
We’re thinking of you!
love, Pat and Bob
